The Act introduces an amendment to Section 4 establishing that anyone charged solely with the offences listed in subsection (2) must be tried by a judge sitting alone without a jury, regardless of other legal provisions. However, if the indictment also includes an offence not covered by subsection (2), the defendant may opt for a jury trial for the offence in subsection (2) unless they choose to be tried by a judge alone for the additional offence.
