The primary objective of the Rules is to ensure that judicial proceedings involving children are conducted with due regard to the best interests of the child, taking into account their age, mental condition, and level of understanding. The Rules provide for the establishment and operation of Child Courts, define their jurisdiction and functions, and lay down child-friendly procedures for hearing cases involving children.
