Second Region

Gives effect in part to convention 147. Require employer, inter alia, to ensure health and safety on board ship; to make provision for maintenance of vessel and occupation and safe use, handling, storage and transport of articles used and for a safe environment; employees are required to take reasonable care of the health and safety of themselves and of other persons on board ship and cooperate with employer in applying Merchant Shipping Act.
