Abstract/Citation
The Act amends the Indian Penal Code, the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 and the Indian Evidence Act, 1872. A new section 195A (threatening or inducing any person to give false evidence) is included in the Penal Code. In the Code of Criminal Procedure, sections 195, 292 and 340 as well as Schedule One are amended and a new Chapter XXIA is inserted concerning plea-bargaining. Section 154 of the Evidence Act is amended concerning reliance on the evidence of witnesses.
