Second Region

These regulations extend certain provisions of the Social welfare (consolidation) act, 1981 to the new schemes. These provisions deal with a number of administrative matters relating to the making of claims, the method of payments, decisions, appeals, etc. The regulations also prescribe the conditions in which a man may be regarded as having been deserted by his wife for the purposes of the deserted husbands's allowance scheme.
