Second Region

Amends the Federal Act on Maternity Protection of 18 April 1968 (BGBl. I S. 315). Allows the government, through subsequent legislation, to require employers to provide resting areas for young or expectant mothers. Extends the period in which women who have given birth shall not work to twelve weeks in cases of multiple births or premature delivery. Removes provision allowing dismissal of pregnant domestic workers in private households.
