Abstract/Citation
National insurance incorporates benefits such as old age benefits, disability benefits, child allowance and maternity benefits. In case of accidents, the national insurance provides for health care, daily allowance, disability benefits and survivor's benefits. The Act stipulates that all persons domiciled in Iceland for the last six months are entitled to health insurance according to the Act. That includes free hospitalization and medical consultation against low fees. Sets out specific rules for dental cost, travelling allowance, payments for medicine etc.
