Abstract/Citation

Comprehensive legislation on conditions of employment. Part 1 establishes Labour Advisory Board, and defines its duties. Part 2 regulates appointment, powers and duties of Labour Commissioners. Part 3 provides for contracts of service generally, Part 4 for oral contracts of service, and Part 5 for written contracts. Part 6 makes provision for wages, Part 7 for young persons and children, and Part 8 for care and welfare. Part 9 deals with recruitment, and Part 10 sets forth prohibition of forced labour. Part 11 makes provision for remedies, jurisdiction and procedure of court, and Part 12 for women, young persons and children. Finally, Part 12 deals with offences.
