Abstract/Citation
Made under Minimum Wages and Conditions of Employment Act. Applies to all employees except those of the Government of the Republic of Zambia, those engaged in domestic service, those of district councils, and those in occupations where wages and conditions of employment are regulated through the process of collective bargaining under the Industrial and Labour Relations Act. Sets forth minimum wages for different categories of workers. Establishes that the normal weekly hours of work for any employee shall not exceed forty-eight hours. Also provides for overtime, annual leave, paid sick leave, maternity leave, retirement benefits, early retirement, medical discharge, redundancy benefits, repatriation benefits, funeral assistance, and lunch allowance.
