Abstract/Citation
Amends the Aliens and Immigration Laws N° 2 of 1972, 54 of 1976, 50 of 1988, 197 of 1989, 100(I) of 1996, 43(I) of 1997, 14(I) of 1998, 22(I) and 164(I) of 2001, 88(I) and 220(I) of 2002, 66(I) of 2003, 178(I) of 2004, 8(I) and 184(I) of 2007, 29(I) and 143(I) of 2009, 153(I) of 2011, 41(I), 100(I) and 117(I) of 2012 and 32(I) and 49(I) of 2013, in view of exercising the discretionary power granted by article 11.4 of the Council Directive 2003/109/EC of 25 November 2003, concerning the status of third-country nationals who are long-term residents, as recently amended by European Parliament and Council Directive 2011/51/EU of 11 May 2011, and for the purposes of harmonizing national legislation with the article 11.4a of the aforementioned Directive 2003/109/EC.
It specifically amends article 18IZ, by replacing paragraph (d) of 1st phrase concerning the right to benefits, as well as 3rd phrase to include in the applicable statutory system the amendments incurred to the Law on Refugees by new Laws N° 58(I) and 59(I) of 2014.
